The Lamplighter Guild is a transformative experience. It is very rare to find a place that can create such an excellent culture and atmosphere. I started the week shy and walked away confident. Though I learned so much about the world of media, I learned even more about myself and about what a Godly community looks like. Going back for a second year was like coming home and being reunited with family. The Lamplighter Guild will always have a special place in my heart.

Maxwell Bailey

Storytelling is the best form of communication, and communication is the best way to form community. When he attended the Lamplighter Guild in 2013, Maxwell Bailey’s perception of community was forever altered.

Going from shy to confident, he dove into learning more about acting and writing. Maxwell became passionate about helping others share their stories in a safe community. In 2017, he did just that as an interning Ambassador for the Institute for Cultural Communicators (ICC). As an Ambassador, Maxwell helped facilitate live events where he managed people, acted in skits, led activities, fostered a safe community, and facilitated workshops, all with the goal of training young people to be confident and character-driven communicators for Christ. Recently, Maxwell extended his outreach by producing, co-writing, and acting in a video curriculum for ICC that empowers 6-10 year olds to be able to confidently share their ideas with storytelling and public speaking skills.

Maxwell has a love for learning. That passion took him to the guild, which launched him into sharing his story, working well with people, and influencing others well.
